Legacy Donors and JCGC Board Member Honored at Federation’s Sustainers’ Event
The Jewish Federation of Cincinnati hosted the annual Sustainers’ Event on June 12th, honoring all of Cincinnati’s Jewish community legacy donors. Create Your Jewish Legacy started almost 3 years ago and JCGC has now secured over 50 commitments, in addition to several commitments from donors at the time of JCGC’s founding. These gifts, which will eventually come to JCGC in the form of bequests or through insurance policies and retirement accounts on which JCGC has been named as a beneficiary, will help ensure the long-term sustainability of JCGC.
As always, we want to thank all of our legacy donors for their visionary commitment to our future!
Their commitments today also helped JCGC qualify for a grant from the Jewish Federation of Cincinnati, who have partnered with the Harold Grinspoon Foundation’s Life and Legacy program. For reaching our goal for new commitments, JCGC received the full $10,000 grant for a second year in a row!
AND, JCGC’s Board of Trustees was the first in the city to have 100% of its board members participate in the program and complete a legacy gift letter of intent or confirmed commitment! This remarkable feat earned JCGC a $500 bonus. AMAZING!
Finally, speaking of our amazing Board, we were very proud that JCGC’s President-elect, Alan Brown, was this year’s recipient of the Mesel Wieder Mensch Award! The award is given to a community board or committee member who exemplifies the notion of being a mensch, humbly and selflessly giving of their time, energy, and resources. Alan was nominated by JCGC and by his congregation, Beth Adam, where he is a past-president and past-chair of their CYJL team. Alan also serves on the Federation’s CYJL Steering Committee, as well as being engaged in other community boards and endeavors. JCGC is grateful to Alan for the design and marketing expertise he brings, in addition to the other talents he lends to JCGC and we congratulate him on receiving the Mesel Wieder Mensch Award!
